In this movie, Bill Murray stars as the eponymous Steve Zissou, a famous oceanographer and documentary star. Not only that, but he also leads a crew aboard the Belafonte who often join him on his documentaries. For one such documentary, one of their latest endeavors leads to the tragic death of Zissou's assistant and best friend at the hands of an allegedly mysterious Jaguar Shark.
