Michel and Gérard, both in their forties, worked 20 years for a wooden barrel factory which closed to cut costs. While searching for a new job, they soon realize that, without any qualification, even with their work experience, there's no work for them. Michel decides to get his high school diploma and convinces his friend Gérard to do the same. Struggling to recreate themselves both their friends and families try to cope with the situation in their own way.
