His life destroyed by alcohol, Dick (Jon Gries) struggles to remain sober with the guidance of an enigmatic bearded figure (Val Kilmer) whose wisdom instills him with the strength to launch his own business. As Dick becomes more successful, he commits himself to providing educational scholarships to children in Texas 4-H and FFA.
