In the depths of cold, boundless space, Mother, the state-of-the-art AI super-computer aboard the commercial towing vehicle USCSS "Nostromo," detects a possible distress signal from a nearby barren, inhospitable moon, Acheron, and awakens the seven-member crew from cryosleep.
